Cargo Operators at O'Hare
Chicago’s O’Hare International
Airport is a global leader in the movement of freight, mail and goods.
O’Hare is currently North America’s seventh busiest cargo-moving airport and
growing with a large hub operated by Polar Air. Flowers from Latin America,
electronics from Asia and industrial machinery from Europe are only a small
portion of the more than 1.7 million tons of air cargo moves through our
gateway each year. Goods are shipped to and from more than 210 global
destinations by 23 of the top 25 cargo carriers as well as over 50 passenger
airlines.
The airport’s central location facilitates cargo connections around the
world. International imports and exports can reach their final destination
by air with one easy connection. Superior trucking connections to the
largest number of north-south and east-west interstate highways ensure
efficient delivery. A large and diversified airline base as well as a large
support infrastructure including a large freight forwarder and customs
broker base makes O’Hare a logical choice for cargo distribution.
O’Hare’s advantages are impressive. If the airport was a country it would
rank just ahead of Romania in the value of goods exported and just ahead of
Israel in the value of goods imported. O’Hare’s unparalleled access to the
global supply chain truly makes Chicago the Gateway to the World.
