Cicero Avenue Detour Near Chicago Midway Airport
(CHICAGO) October, 2000 – Crews will be demolishing the old pedestrian bridge over Cicero Avenue. The new pedestrian opened to the public on Saturday, October 21st. The old pedestrian bridge must be demolished for work to continue on the new Concourse A building and the new Terminal roadway system.
When: Tuesday, October 24th and Thursday, October 26th
- Lane reductions on Cicero Avenue between 55th Street and 63rd Streets beginning at 8:00 p.m. on
both nights.
- All lanes closed on Cicero Avenue between 55th Street and 63rd Streets beginning at 10:00 p.m. both
nights.
- All lanes will reopen by 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25th and on Friday, October 26th at 5:00 a.m.
Northbound Detour:
- Northbound traffic will be detoured to 63rd Street, west to Central Avenue, North to 55th Street and east to Cicero Avenue.

Southbound Detour:
- Southbound traffic will be detoured at 55th Street, west to Central Avenue, south to 63rd Street and
east to Cicero Avenue.
- Only southbound traffic entering the Terminal curbfront will be allowed into the impacted areas.
