Information Regarding O’Hare International Airport’s
Nighttime Construction and Maintenance Program for 2007

As part of the O’Hare Modernization Program’s Phase I construction, there will only be two airfield projects in 2007 to impact the preferential runways identified under the Fly Quiet Program.

• Runway 9R/27L will require nighttime closures from April 23rd through November 30th for rehabilitation as well as the runway extension.

• The rehabilitation punch-list to Runway 4R/22L will require intermittent nighttime closures from April 15th through April 30th. Then from September 20th through November 30th, Runway 4R/22L will require additional nighttime closures for the Engineered Materials Arresting System (EMAS) project.

In addition, during the next couple of months Runway 9R/27 and Runway 9L/27R will be redesignated as follows:
On July 5, 2007, Runway 9R/27L will be renamed 10/28
On August 30, 2007, Runway 9L/27R will become 9R/27L

Facts:

The existing Runway 9R-27L has been O’Hare’s second longest runway and one of the most utilized nighttime runways.

Runway 14R-32L is O’Hare’s longest runway and also one of the most utilized for nighttime operations.
